May Day Picnic

Queens Gate May Day Picnic

Despite the rain, we were able to hold our annual May Day Picnic this year, albeit we had to enjoy it indoors. A big thank you goes to our incredible caterer Thomas Franks for the delicious feast.

Furthermore, like every Friday lunchtime, we extended a warm welcome to members of Age UK K&C to join us for this joyous occasion. The inclement weather cannot dampen our enjoyment here at Queen’s Gate!

We also commemorated the birthdays of our two tortoises in the Junior School. The party portion of the day’s celebrations were wonderfully arranged by our incredible PTA, and great fun was had by all.

Those who have visited Queen’s Gate Junior School will be familiar with the tortoises as they greet people on entry to the Junior School, and who are impeccably nurtured by Ms Jackson and our JS girls. On this special occasion, they received extra love and attention as we serenaded them with a rendition of “Happy Birthday” during assembly, and recognized the girls who have gone the extra mile to assist Ms Jackson in taking care of our special school mascots.
