This term a group of Lower Sixth students have been taking part in a reading project with a local school. During this partnership, pupils from Queen’s Gate visited Wendell Park Primary School every Friday to hear children read on a one-to-one basis.
A particular emphasis during the reading sessions was placed on improving the skill of reading for meaning and pleasure, as well as an opportunity to have enriching and engaging one-to-one conversations with older pupils. Our girls have made a big impact. It is one of our most popular outreach choices and all students involved finish the programme with lasting memories.
There was an incredible display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship at this year’s Senior Swimming Gala! Across three exciting events, pupils from Remove to Sixth Form showcased their hard work and dedication, resulting in a fantastic competition.
A special congratulations to Wyatt, crowned the 2025 Winning House!

On Tuesday 11 March, Year 12 student, Valentina, was invited to the Victoria & Albert museum to deliver a presentation on Diego Rivera’s Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Park at the Articulation Prize 2025 London Final. With confidence, energy, and passion, Valentina showcased her deep engagement with Rivera’s work.
Dr. Susan Foister, Deputy Director and Director of Collections at the National Gallery, praised her presentation, stating: “I enjoyed your very engaging use of images, which aligned extremely well with the presentation and pacing of your talk, and the ways in which you covered a wide and well-researched range of aspects of Rivera’s work and its context.”
Congratulations, Valentina, on this outstanding achievement!
Passion, fate, and tragedy unfolded on stage in our Senior School production of Blood Wedding. An unforgettable performance filled with intense emotion, stunning visuals, and incredible talent. Bravo to our cast and crew for bringing Lorca’s masterpiece to life! A huge thank you to all the teachers, particularly Mrs Pajovic, Mr Harvey and Mrs Scott, who worked hard to make this production such a success! #BloodWedding #SchoolProduction
On Monday Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a talk by author and historian Matthew Dennison @matthewdennisonbiographer on The Wind in the Willows author, Kenneth Grahame. The girls discovered fun facts about Grahame’s love of food (especially bacon!) and how the beloved book stemmed from stories he told his son, Alastair (nicknamed Mouse).
After the talk, they took part in a quiz and a creative writing challenge, crafting their own tales featuring anthropomorphic animals and food. The challenge winner will be announced in Wednesday’s assembly and will receive a copy of Mr. Dennison’s book. A huge thank you to Mr Dennison from @tudorhallschool for an inspiring session!
Maths featured heavily in QG events last week! Our UK Maths Trust Maths Challenge squad had an amazing time at Nonsuch High School for Girls, putting their problem-solving skills to the test. We celebrated Pi Day with a Baking Competition —because nothing celebrates 3.14.(25) quite like a homemade pi(e)!
Swipe to see the action from both events! #PiDay #MathsChallenge #Teamwork #STEM
